Richa's journey into design was anything but conventional.

Richa Patel, Interior Design Assistant

She was born and raised in the city of Tampa, Florida. Armed with a bachelor's degree in finance, she spent eight years navigating the corporate banking world. Despite growing up in a household encouraging traditional career paths, she followed the expected route.

However, in her 30s, a realization dawned – she wasn't fully invested and it was time for a change.

Design had always been a part of her, expressed through interests in arts, travel, food, & experiences.

Exploring new people and places, Richa found herself drawn to the stories woven into the interiors of the world—the history, the culture, the creativity. The transition from ﬁnance to design was challenging but ultimately worth the career change.

From sourcing luxurious materials to creating personalized spaces, every step of Richa's journey fills her with passion and excitement. Design, for her, goes beyond creating beautiful rooms; it's about curating experiences, weaving memories, and celebrating individuality. As a Leo, she takes pride in her work, relishing every opportunity to showcase the stories created together.

Lori's design journey began in childhood, marked by a natural affinity for art...

Lori Newcom, Interior Design Assistant

sewing, and a constant penchant for rearranging and redecorating. While in college, exposure to Interior Design through her sorority sisters ignited a passion that led Lori to pursue it professionally. She is a Tampa native and Florida State alum.

Lori has a diverse background, in home construction, furnishings, and décor to teaching college courses and styling television sets.

Interior Design, for Lori, is both a career and a passion, bringing invigorating energy and joy.

Lori takes pride in having a personal connection to my clients, which has brought her to the Slate Studios team.

Her design philosophy aligns with Slate Studios as she leans towards a blend of styles, believing it to be the most personal and timeless approach, achieved through a delicate balance of colors, textures, and styles.

Beyond design, Lori finds joy in exploring...

and personalizing new recipes, attempting gardening, and indulging in true crime documentaries during downtime. Family is Lori's core motivation, driving the pursuit of excellence both professionally and personally.
