Modern Condo
project
project Type: condo renovation
location: downtown tampa, fl
project scope: full service design
vendors: phillip jeffries, arteriors, made goods
collaborators: porcelain countertop fabricators, custom carpentry
Located on the 30th floor with floor to ceiling window, this condo has sweeping views of downtown Tampa. Surrounded by this urban environment, we felt it was important to highlight the views.
But also provide a sense of calm inside the space. We created a haven from the hustle and bustle by bringing in wood, warm tones, stones with natural veining, and luxurious fabrics and rugs.
overview
bedroom
detail
We wrapped the bedroom in a luxurious wood veneer wallcovering from Phillip Jefferies. The coffered pattern provides an architectural look that is both timeless and modern. The warmth of the neutral wood color envelops the room.
coziness
To play with the idea of coziness, the scale of the furnishings were brought down. A lower height platform bed, sconces mounted low, and a soffit above the dresser play against the tall ceilings. A fur rug, and layers of sumptuous bedding add luxury, making the everyday feel like an escape into a world of opulence and comfort.

bathroom
detail
The main event in the bathroom is without a doubt the arabescato grigio marble. This gorgeous stone imported from Italy is has such character and veining that all of the other finishes were selected to compliment it rather than compete against it.

A New Urban
Lifestyle
chapter
With all of this inspiration nearby, the design of the condo will match the energy and vibrancy of city life (that's right in their backyard).
While also providing a comforting oasis to unwind and decompress from the hustle and bustle. Cocktails anyone?
kitchen
detail
What do you do when you have a structural column in your kitchen? You clad it in the most gorgeous stone you can find of course! This kitchen features stunning cerused oak cabinetry, porcelain countertops, and as much storage as we could possibly squeeze into the space.
the direction
The design was heavily inspired by Joyce and Alex’s heirloom pieces of artwork and vintage brutalist style coffee table. Joyce and Alex love antiques, vintage furnishings, and color. They enjoy traveling, cooking, entertaining, and love to snuggle in on rainy days.

Unique Globally Inspired
treasures
We infused the couple’s passions by sourcing unique globally inspired items that have a meaning behind them. We focused on designing a space to suit their lifestyle.
The color palette is inspired by the couple's artwork collection. A mix patterns, wood tones, and various types of stones all provide energy, soul, and comfort.
the look
living room
detail
A local master carpenter fabricated a custom three dimensional oak paneled wall. As if the wall wasn’t enough, we decided to add lighting to create a wall as pretty as any piece of artwork.
layering
We wanted to create a layered look, but a challenge in this small space was to make sure it didn’t feel cluttered. We selected pieces that fit the scale of the room, and also took cabinetry and millwork to the ceiling to create the illusion of a more expansive space.

office
detail
The office space is part artist and creative, and part business CEO. The client asked for a backdrop for zoom calls that would look professional and stylish, and we delivered.
