Rustic yet Refined
Spanish Mediterranean
project
project Type: new construction home
location: south tampa, fl
project scope: full service design
vendors: cambria quartz, bedrosians tile
collaborators: locally sourced salvaged wood for the kitchen island
Overall, this new construction home was designed to feel like it’s always been here. We wanted materials with patina and soul to provide an old-world feeling. Salvaged wood, plaster ceilings, rustic beams and artisan crafted tiles blend seamlessly with more modern touches such as a sleek staircase, quartz dining table top, and black cerused oak cabinetry.

dining
detail
Keeping the kitchen and dining room completely open to the living area is perfect for entertaining. A huge island encourages gathering in everyone’s favorite room in the house, the kitchen. A recessed bar serves as the focal point in the dining room with its dreamy arch.
Bradley Harris
Bradley Harris recently purchased a new home in Tampa, FL. As an engineer who travels internationally for work, he's been able to explore many places globally. He was captivated by the relaxed Mediterranean style throughout Spain and wants to have that old world feel.

wet bar area
detail
The wet bar was an important aspect of the design, during parties everyone gravitates to the kitchen to mix drinks, making it hard for the owner to prepare meals for his dinner parties. We moved the bar out from the kitchen but created a special design feature so it didn’t feel out of place.

Spain inspired Relaxed Simplicity
haven
With such a busy schedule, having a home that speaks of simplicity and a relaxed way of living is paramount. It was important for the design to immediately give a sense of calm, one that beckons a slower pace that is more in tune with nature.
kitchen
detail
This kitchen is a chef's dream, with top-of-the-line appliances, two dishwashers, a hidden pantry, and spacious True brand fridge, this kitchen makes meal preparation a moment to be enjoyed.
the direction
Since the client wanted a home that didn’t feel brand new, we designed a space that feels like it’s been built, added to, and curated over the years. Rustic wood, plaster, artisan elements, handmade tiles, natural stone, and texture will all bring in the natural, relaxed vibe that speaks to Bradley's soul.

the look
bathroom
detail
This half-bath feels like you’ve stepped into a luxury resort. The striking contrast between the white walls, sand colored zellige tiles, and concrete looking quartz wainscotting and sink provides a soothing color palette that feels earthy and modern.
Sometimes
The best inspiration comes from experiences. With this clients love for Spain, Ybor city in Tampa, and love for Mediterranean colors and textures, it was easy to be inspired to create an interior that evokes those places.
