How to Style Your Thanksgiving Table

holiday table blog post thanksgiving table slate studios interior design

There’s nothing more timeless and elegant than a well-styled holiday table. This fall, we’re channeling the rich hues of nature to inspire a Thanksgiving tablescape that’s sure to impress. Think warm shades of merlot, amber, and spice, mixed metals like silver and champagne gold, layered textures, and touches of vintage glassware to create the perfect setting for gathering with family and friends.

Color Palette Inspiration: Merlot, Amber & Spice

When it comes to your Thanksgiving table, the possibilities for a color scheme are endless. You could embrace the natural beauty of fall with forest green, sage, and earthy browns, or you might opt for rich burgundy, red, and orange hues to reflect the vibrancy of autumn leaves. For a twist, consider pairing traditional elements like squash and pinecones with a fresh pop of powdery blue for an unexpected, yet stunning contrast.

For our holiday table inspiration, we pulled colors directly from the season’s changing leaves: deep merlot purple, glowing amber, and cozy spice. The deep purple tones add a bit of the unexpected while perfectly complementing metallic accents and natural harvest elements, making for a warm and inviting aesthetic.

Tablescape Inspiration

Every great design project begins with inspiration. Whether you’re perusing your favorite stores, scrolling through Pinterest, or flipping through the latest decor magazine, there’s no shortage of holiday tablescape ideas to inspire you this time of year.

For this chic Thanksgiving setting, the designer opted for a combination of traditional pumpkin, gold accents, and layered textures. The addition of leopard print dinner plates and pearl shell chargers introduces an element of surprise—elevating the look with luxe, festive charm.

Another one of our favorite tablescapes takes a modern approach to fall decor, featuring coastal-inspired plates from Corelle’s Portofino collection paired with woven placemats and muted fall tones. This tablescape demonstrates that untraditional elements—like coastal vibes for fall—can still create the perfect holiday look.
