One Room Challenge | Week 8: The Final Reveal

Pop the bubbly, we did it! 🎉 Congratulations to all of my fellow One Room Challenge participants who pushed through the late nights, highs and lows, supply runs, and creative chaos to bring their visions to life. Whether you completed a big space or, like me, transformed a tiny space with big personality, we made it to the finish line and that deserves a celebration!

My Jewel Box Powder Bath

Eight weeks later, I made it!!! I survived. What started as a basic powder bath has officially transformed into a rich, layered, jewel-box space that feels luxurious, collected, and uniquely ours.

When I began this project, my goal was simple, to remind myself (and my clients) just how much skill, patience, and craft go into every detail of a renovation. From skim-coating to gold leafing, from trim to crown molding, each step challenged me in a new way and deepened my appreciation for the trades who do this work every day.

The Transformation

This little room went from bright and blank to moody and magical. The Benjamin Moore Monet walls now glow softly beneath the hand-applied gold-leaf ceiling, while the new picture molding and crown add architecture and depth.

I kept the existing vanity but elevated it with new hardware, a statement faucet in antique brass, and a mirror that perfectly reflects the shimmer above. The final touches, gold-sprayed vent cover and AC register, layered accessories, and artwork that inspired it all make the room feel cohesive, intentional, and personal.

It is truly like stepping away into another place. I just love the oriental accents that transport me when I am in this space.

This project was humbling, exhausting, and incredibly rewarding. This project served as a reminder of why I love what I do, the power of design transforms not just spaces, but the way we feel in them.
