Welcome back to the One Room Challenge, Week 3 edition! This week, we're thrilled for the design reveal that's been taking shape.
I found the most incredible pieces that tell my story.
Every Piece is Intentional: Crafting a Thoughtful Design Reveal
Take a look at the design board I've thoughtfully crafted for this compact space. In a room of this size, each individual piece must make a statement of its own.
First, let's talk about the rug—a charming cheetah pattern that adds personality while keeping things light against the dark walls. It's a perfect fit for my small home office.
Now, I have a confession to make. Ever since I laid eyes on this gorgeous burled maple wood desk from Worlds Away, I've been longing to have one.
Like most of my clients, my home isn't the kind you'd see in a magazine photoshoot. There are computer monitors, iPhone chargers, dirty dishes in the sink, and cat toys—all the things we try to hide. But when it comes to my desk, I must have my dual widescreen monitors. These monitors are mounted to the desk with those fancy swing arm mounts that clamp to the edge. So, you can imagine my delight when I found the perfect burled maple desk with the ideal edge for my monitor mounts.
The one existing piece of furniture that I am bringing is my beloved Herman Miller Embody chair. This is not an affiliate promo, this is simply a girl professing her love for a chair. I am telling you right now, you will never find an office chair more perfect than this one.
To add drama, I've chosen bold wallpaper—a metallic brushed finish grasscloth that shifts in color and texture, truly a standout.
Brass and gold leaf accents in lighting and wall décor bring the finishing touches that make this space uniquely mine. Butterflies are the symbol of evolving and I often tell my clients that as we evolve, our homes should evolve too. For me, this piece felt so personal.
What do you think of this design? I hope you love it as much as I do. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our journey through the One Room Challenge, and don't forget to explore the work of other talented participants here!
